Bollywood celebrities Deepika Padukone and Varun Dhawan cannot stop heaping praises of American athlete Simone Biles. The US gymnast sent shockwaves through the Summer Games on Tuesday when she decided to drop out of the Women’s team final competition on her opening vault after receiving a low mark. She made an exit from the event because of her mental health and not due to an injury. After Biles stunning exit, taking to their Instagram stories, Deepika and Varun made posts and extended support.

The Piku actress shared a news report on her Instagram stories and said “I hear you” to Simone Biles. Padukone, who often speaks about the importance of Mental health shared the post and added hashtags like ‘Mental Health’ and ‘Mental Health Matters’. Meanwhile, a CNN report headlined that Biles exited the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to focus on her mental health.

Varun Dhawan wrote, “What an inspiration.” He called Simone Biles an ‘inspiration’. He added, “An important reminder to take care of your mental health along with physical! A message for difficult times like these,” following with a ‘100’ emoji.

As per reports, while speaking with the reporters at the games, Biles said, “After the performance I did I just didn’t want to go on. Injury? No." She added, "Just a little injury to my pride." “I have to focus on my mental health. I just think mental health is more prevalent in sports right now ... we have to protect our minds and our bodies and not just go out and do what the world wants us to do,” Simone Biles further told the reporters.
